California Dreaming;

verb. 1) to be in a state of escape, a fairy tale-like-mindset, hoping or wishing for a specific outcome that may or may not happen.

California Dreaming is the debut series by Australian photographer, Jacqui Wilkins. Celebrating the spectacular raw beauty of the Joshua Tree and Californian Desert, the collection showcases rugged rock formations, stark desert landscapes and dramatic geology that has become synonymous with the Joshua Tree National Park.

The works are the result of an intimate journey for Jacqui and her husband, Steve. While holidaying in California in 2016, they drove through the desert in their American muscle car from the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs to Joshua Tree; where the high Mojave desert meets the low Colorado desert. In 40-degree heat, Jacqui captured the breathtaking backdrop, from dawn to dusk, of what would later become her first exhibition of work.

California Dreaming is a limited edition series, showcasing 17 unique images.
